Millie Avoletta, L.V.T.
Millie’s best friend growing up was an intelligent and gentle American Pitbull named Sarge. This relationship fostered a desire to work with animals. Millie attended veterinary technician school at Bergen Community College in New Jersey and is now a L.V.T. Millie joined the FCAH team in November 2007. She enjoys working at growing hospital where the level of service provides a benchmark for others to follow. Millie moved to Alaska in 2004 following a dream to be closer to nature and wildlife. Her and her family appreciates the natural beauty that Alaska offers. In Millie’s spare time she enjoys horseback riding, hiking and spending quality time with her husband and two children. Millie’s husband shares her affection for animals. They have common goals and dreams. Millie is the proud owner of 3 Akitas; Panda, Kenai & Sitka; 2 horses; Tallan & Lakota; 4 cats; Kovu, Rain, Nakoma and Kiara; 2 tarantulas; 2 mice & an exotic uromastyx lizard!

Jamie Quinn, Veterinary Technician
Jamie’s passion for animals is innate. She was born and raised in Alaska and enjoys horseback riding. In 2004 she started working for an Anchorage vet hospital as a receptionist then a veterinary assistant. Learning about animals medically by on the job training and through online courses, Jamie aspires to improve her technical skills and become a Licensed Veterinary Technician. Jamie is a proud Staffordshire Bull Terriers owner and fancier, and AKC exhibitor. Jamie is active members of the following K9 clubs: Cook Inlet Kennel Club, Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club of America, North East Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club and Northern Outpost Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club of Alaska. Jamie has two daughters who are aspiring Junior Handlers in the Sport of Purebred Dogs.

Nicole Baston, L.V.T.
Nicole when asked why she enjoys working with animals responds; “I was born that way”. Nicole loves animals and carries a deep understanding for the importance of medical care and attention. Nicole is a Licensed Veterinary Technician, has an Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology and aspires to become a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Nicole started working at Far Country when Dr. Whittington opened the doors August of 2006. Nicole’s professional interests include responsible breeding and reproduction, as well as Emergency Services. She is in the process of starting the first Alaskan Canine Blood Bank. There is a great need for the availability of K9 blood products and services and little access to them due to our geographical location. Nicole is a fancier of Great Danes and Newfoundlands. Her personal crew of canines consists of two Great Danes, both of which excel in many AKC sports, one Newfoundland and one Whippet who belongs to her loving and supportive husband and her beautiful daughter Kitty. Nicole is Vice President of the Great Dane Club of Mat-Su.
